Anthipodi is a cultural association whose purpose is the protection and enhancement, both in Italy and in the world, of the Italian food and wine culture and its territories, of the typical and organic Italian products, of the Mediterranean diet … without forgetting to tell and try to contrast the food inequalities so much present on our planet.
Since its appearance on Earth, mankind has had to obtain food to live. The company of gatherers and hunters then specialized and passed from the survival instinct to a subsequent phase in which through the fire it began to cook food: it created a “social ritual” around the fire and food.
Thousands of years after the dawn of humanity we must, unfortunately, note that even today many human beings, in many parts of the world are daily engaged in the search for food to survive while the “social ritual” that is created around food has assumed a centrality, at times exasperated, in the life of each of us, even with unacceptable practices of food waste.
This is why we are committed to supporting UN actions on the development of food systems, food security and environmental sustainability: “The future of the world depends on good food. It’s that simple. Good food keeps us healthy. It helps us reach our potential. It strengthens our communities, feeds our economies and protects our planet. But not everyone gets good food every day, and the way we produce and market food is harming our environment. This needs to change. We need a world where good food is affordable and accessible, where governments and businesses work together to provide it, and where farmers in every country grow food in ways that protect the planet. Everyone, everywhere, will have to unite and lead courageous actions to bring about the changes our world so desperately needs”.
